Stolen Identity
Austria. Dir. Gunther von Fritsch. 1953, 81 mins. With Donald Buka, Joan Camden. This forgotten film noir gem is an Austrian-American coproduction, filmed simultaneously in English and Austrian versions. A jealous concert pianist murders his wife’s lover, then frames an innocent taxi driver for the crime. Much like in The Third Man, the city of Vienna, filled with shadows and haunted architecture, is the real star of the film.
Free with Museum admission.
