The Silence (Das letzte Schweigen)
Germany. Dir. Baran bo Odar. 2010, 122 mins. With Ulrich Thomsen, Wotan Wilke Möehring. A young girl goes missing, in the same location where another girl was murdered 23 years earlier, sending shock waves through a small town. The girl’s mother has the unsettling feeling that a visitor to her home—a married man with two children—has murdered her daughter. This gripping film, with a top-notch ensemble cast, is at once a tense thriller and an astute psychological drama.
