Franck Poupart, a world-weary door-to-door salesman in a sinister Paris suburb, is introduced to Mona, a teenager turned prostitute by her own aunt. Franck decides to save her and comes up with a murder plan to achieve his goal. The film is an exercise in noir style, with Jim Thompson’s dialogue adapted by Georges Perec, author of Life: A User’s Manual.
