The Double Hour (La doppia ora)
Italy. Dir. Giuseppe Capotondi. 2009, 95 mins. With Kseniya Rappoport, Filippo Timi. A former cop and a chambermaid meet at a speed-dating event, and a passionate romance quickly develops. When they leave the city for a getaway, things take a dark turn. Andrew O’Hehir (Salon) described the film as “a strangers-in-the-night love story, partly an icy, twisty Hitchcockian thriller and partly an old-school Italian shocker.”
