Screening
Alice

Part of The Films of Jan Svankmajer
Friday, February 17, 2012, 7:00 p.m.

Dir. Jan Svankmajer. 1988, 86 mins.

With Kristýna Kohoutová. Svankmajer’s feature film debut is one of his best-known films, a darkly surreal adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic. A live actress stars as Alice, among a variety of stop-motion creatures made out of everything from fabric to raw meat. The result is a tactile and disturbing, yet strangely endearing, exploration into the darker side of a child’s imagination.

Tickets for Friday evening screenings: $12 ($9 for senior citizens and students) and includes admission to the Museum's galleries, which are open until 8:00 p.m.
