DESCRIPTION:\n	The Museum\, in partnership with Persol\, is pleased to anno
unce the launch of an ongoing film series\, 'New Visions\,' featuring inno
vative and exciting films by emerging directors. \n	\n	\n	Dir. Julia Lokte
 v. 2011\, 113 mins. 35mm. With Hani Furstenberg\, Gael García Bernal. An a
udacious and intimate romantic drama that plays out against a magnificent
mountain landscape in the Georgia republic\, Julia Loktev’s (Day Night Day
Night) second feature explores the frightening fragility of love amid mom
ents of crisis. A young couple\, touring with a local guide\, encounters a
situation that pivots everything they have come to know and trust about e
ach other. Hani Furstenberg’s stunning\, mostly nonverbal lead performance
is full of brooding silence that echoes the endless landscape. Film criti
c David Thomson wrote “You have to see The Loneliest Planet\, for it is on
e of those works that prepares you for life\, that make you wary\, alive a
nd responsible\, and which... well\, you’ll never forget it… Julia Loktev
is one of the most radical\, intelligent\, and talented filmmakers now at
 work.” \n	\n	\n	Due to a scheduling conflict\, Hani Furstenberg will not b
e appearing this evening as previously announced. \n	\n	\n	Tickets: $15 pu
blic / $9 Museum members / Free for Silver Screen members and above. Order
  online or call 718 777 6800 to reserve tickets. \n	\n	\n This screening
is presented as part of the series New Visions\, in association with Pers
ol. The Museum is pleased to continue its partnership with Persol\, which
began in 2011 with the first installation of PERSOL MAGNIFICENT OBSESSIONS
: 30 stories of craftsmanship in film. The Museum hosted the second instal
 lation of the three-year exhibition in June\, 2012. \n	\n \n
