Preceded by a live musical performance by the Main Squeeze Orchestra in the Kaufman Courtyard

U.S. Dir. Alison Bagnall. 2015, 85 mins. Digital projection. With Olly Alexander, Kentucker Audley, Joslyn Jensen, Josephine Decker. The third feature from Alison Bagnall, best known for Buffalo 66 (as writer) and The Dish and the Spoon (also as director), shares the dark comic sensibility of her earlier films with a focus on an offbeat love triangle. Gene spends his days canvassing the neighborhood, tactlessly ranting to strangers about childhood obesity and the billions of dollars wasted each year on junk food subsidies. After being kicked out of his ex-wife’s house, he meets a peculiar young man named Titty (Olly Alexander), an emotionally arrested nineteen-year-old who sued his own father to win back his inheritance. Gene soon discovers that Titty has an ongoing online relationship with the intriguing and beautiful Ginger (Joslyn Jensen), a reclusive factory farm activist. Together they make a pilgrimage to meet her, and wind up forming a close bond as they vie for Ginger’s heart.

Preceded by Wayward Fronds. U.S. Dir. Fern Silva. 2014, 13 mins. New 16mm print! This experimental short takes place in the Everglades, when Nature begins to take back the wetlands, engulfing civilization along the way.
