Dir. Paul Fejos. 1928, 69 mins. Restored 35mm print from the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film. With Barbara Kent, Glenn Tryon, Fay Holderness. A simple story of boy meets girl in the big city is at the core of Hungarian émigré Paul Fejos’s late-silent-era dazzler, expressionistically filmed on New York locations, with a Coney Island trip capturing the excitement of the couple’s courtship. The recent restoration by the George Eastman House includes three scenes with dialogue, a synchronous music score, and color tinting.
