Karen von Blixen-Finecke’s (a.k.a Isak Dinesen) memoir of her life in British East Africa in the early 20th century comes to life through Streep's exceptional performance as an aristocrat who runs a coffee plantation. She reinvents herself after her marriage falls apart and meets a free-spirited hunter (played by Robert Redford).
