Screening
Hitchcock/Truffaut
Dir. Kent Jones. 2015, 82 mins. Digital projection. With Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, James Gray. The book Hitchcock/Truffaut, based on French director François Truffaut’s weeklong interview with Alfred Hitchcock, is a remarkably entertaining and incisive study of Hitchcock’s artistry and technique. Kent Jones’s film about the book is a tribute and a master class, with film clips, archival material, and interviews with directors whose work was profoundly influenced by Hitchcock.
