The Wrong Man
Dir. Alfred Hitchcock. 1956, 105 mins. 35mm. With Henry Fonda, Vera Miles. The true story of a musician who is wrongly accused of theft inspired one of Hitchcock’s most underrated films. With a blend of documentary style footage (including scenes filmed in Jackson Heights) and the master’s trademark expressionism, this stark masterpiece is a compelling study of identity, guilt, and psychosis.
