With magnificent photography by Nestor Almendros and Haskell Wexler combined with Fisk’s evocative and minimal production design, Days of Heaven is a sumptuous epic, one of the most ravishingly beautiful films of its time. Set just after World War I, it portrays a tragic love triangle between a migrant worker, his girlfriend, and an aristocratic landowner.
