Dir. Hong Sang-soo. 2002, 115 mins. Digital projection. With Kim Sang-kyung, Chu Sang-mi, Ye Ji-won. After actor Gyung-Soo doesn’t get a desired part, he leaves bleak Seoul to visit a friend in the provinces. He has a brief affair with a dance instructor on his visit, but he flees her affection only to become smitten with a married woman that he meets on a train ride, the results of this meeting touching on favorite themes of the deceptions of memory and the massive repercussions of the smallest decisions. “Hong manages to make these laconic characters transparent and sympathetic, and each scene is not only beautiful but precisely made.” (Quintin, The Chicago Reader).
