Screening & Live Event
Jim Henson: A Better World, with Harry Belafonte and friends
Hosted by Craig Shemin, President of The Jim Henson Legacy
Jim Henson said he wanted to leave the world a better place than it was when he got here. This program features three of his productions that illustrate that goal. “Song of the Cloud Forest” tells the story of Milton, an endangered golden toad searching for his mate. The Muppet Show usually leaned more toward mayhem than message, but when Harry Belafonte appeared, he made time for both. The third segment is an episode of Fraggle Rock, a series Henson created with the goal of ending war. In addition, Craig Shemin will also include some rarely seen PSA spots made by Henson to help the planet and its residents. Program length: 85 mins.
