Redstone Theater

Dir. Charles Walters. 1964, 128 mins., 35mm. With Debbie Reynolds, Harve Presnell, Ed Begley. Debbie Reynolds earned her only Academy Award Best Actress nomination for her performance in The Unsinkable Molly Brown, a musical based on the true story of a mountain girl who heads to Colorado and then Europe to seek a better life, and becomes a socialite who winds up saving lives on the Titanic. “Miss Reynolds's portrayal is explosive and her role gives her opportunities to be refreshingly tomboyish such as she has never had before,” wrote The New York Times. “Her unharnessed enthusiasm is a delight.”
