On a remote planet in the distant past, a Gelfling embarks on a quest to find the missing shard of a magical crystal, to restore order to his world. Using a mix of puppetry, animatronics, modern special effects, and more, The Dark Crystal creates a sense of visual astonishment rarely equaled in fantasy filmmaking.
