A worldwide smash hit, Rififi earned director Jules Dassin the Best Director prize at Cannes and set the standard for screen robberies for decades to come. Rialto’s 2000 reissue featured a new subtitles by Brooklyn-born, Paris-based translator Lenny Borger, who has worked on all of the company’s French releases.
