With director James Demo in person

Dir. James Demo. 2016, 90 mins. Digital projection. Internationally renowned negotiator Padraig O'Malley travels the world to broker peace for others but struggles to find it for himself. Taking us from his isolated life in Cambridge, Massachusetts to some of the most dangerous crisis zones on Earth—Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Nigeria, and Iraq—the film shows O'Malley developing a peacemaking model based on his recovery from addiction. Armed with a dry wit and steely pragmatism, he is committed to making a difference, but his motivations are mysterious, resulting in a portrait unlike any other—with inner conflict and external ameliorations working in uneasy tandem. The Peacemaker was a New York Times Critic's Pick.
