Museum of the Moving Image - Bartos Screening Room

Dir. Richard Linklater. 2003. 108 min. 35mm. Featuring Jack Black, Joan Cusack, Sarah Silverman, Mike White. When Dewey Finn (Black) is kicked out of his band and forced to finally pay rent he pretends to be his roommate to take a job as a substitute teacher. Having no knowledge of the subjects he is supposed to teach, Dewey instead teaches the elementary students what he knows and loves best - rock-n-roll. Filled with popular songs, heart and some adult humor, this film will make you want to start your own band. Recommended for ages 11+

After the screening, try recording dialogue over a scene from School of Rock in our ADR (Automated Dialog Replacement) booth. You too can be in the band!
