A disaster film taking place in a modern dystopia, Yo soy otro inscribes itself in the art scene in Cali, Colombia. In fact, some scenes take place in the legendary Lugar a Dudas gallery, founded by artist Oscar Muñoz, whose unsettling photographs or “Protographs” have been incorporated into the film. The story centers on a disease that developed in the jungle, where it lead to violent conflict that eventually infiltrates Intended as a critique of the political condition of the country, the herpes-like contagion becomes both a catalyst for and a symbol for the spread of violence. It covers the skin of the protagonist, who eventually loses his own identity as he multiplies himself into a troop of different selves.
Film catastrofista, instalado en la distopía, se inscribe dentro de la escena artística en Cali, Colombia. De hecho, algunas escenas se desarrollan en la legendaria galería Lugar a Dudas, fundada por el artista Oscar Muñoz, cuyas inquietantes fotos, también llamadas "Protografías" se incorporaron en este filme. La historia se centra en una enfermedad desarrollada en la selva, y a partir de ella se aborda los violentos conflictos y condición política del país. Este virus contagioso, parecido al herpes, que se convierte en catalizador y símbolo del contagio y expansión de la violencia. La enfermedad cubre la piel del protagonista, quien eventualmente pierde su identidad al multiplicarse a sí mismo en una legión de diferentes seres.
