Screening
That Sinking Feeling

Part of Five by Forsyth
Friday, September 27, 2019, 7:00 p.m.
Museum of the Moving Image - Redstone Theater

Dir. Bill Forsyth. 1979, 93 mins. 35mm. With Tom Mannion, Eddie Burt, Richard Demarco. As gritty as it is charming, Bill Forsyth’s debut film, made with a cast of actors from the Glasgow Youth Theater and a budget so low (5,000 pounds) that it made it into the Guinness Book of World Records, is an ambling caper film about a scheme to rob a local plumbing-supply warehouse and profit from the “ill-gotten drains.” Filmed in 16mm in the back streets, vacant lots, and crumbling buildings of Glasgow, the film playfully reinvents kitchen-sink realism.

Tickets: $15 ($11 seniors and students / $9 youth (ages 3–17) / free for children under 3 and Museum members at the Film Lover and Kids Premium levels and above). Order tickets online. (Members may contact members@movingimage.us with questions regarding online reservations.)
