Dir. Bruce Pittman. 1987, 97 mins. 35mm. Michael Ironside, Wendy Lyon, Justin Louis, Lisa Schrage, Terri Hawkes. Thirty years after her fiery death at the 1957 senior prom, the tortured soul of sultry supernatural slasher Mary Lou returns from the grave to possess the body of a high school girl and exact her revenge on the jealous boyfriend who caused her death those many years ago. She also… still wants to be prom queen. With no actual ties to the first Prom Night, this slasher oddity has long confused the horror cognoscenti, but continues to delight audiences with its audacious style, brash humor, and creepy effects.
