Dir. Hayao Miyazaki. 1989, 103 mins. DCP. All shows (except Feb 23) dubbed in English featuring the voices of Kirsten Dunst, Debbie Reynolds, Phil Hartman, Janeane Garofalo. Kiki's Delivery Service, which just celebrated its 30th anniversary, is an animated coming-of-age story from Studio Ghibli about young witch Kiki, who strikes out on her own when she turns 13, as part of a long-held tradition for witches. With her black cat Jiji as companion, Kiki settles in a seaside village and sets up a unique delivery service, using her broom to fly from place to place. When her confidence is tested, and her magic begins to fade, she must learn to find the strength to get her magic back. Kiki’s Delivery Service is a beautiful film for kids and adults about the journey to finding your place in the world.
