  O’Hara. Though the married Maitlands (Baldwin and Davis) are killed early
  on in Tim Burton’s comic ghost classic\, they can’t seem to abandon this 
 mortal coil\, taking up residence again in their beloved Connecticut home.
  The new owners\, save their moody teen daughter\, Lydia (Winona Ryder)\, 
 are a boorish lot so the Maitlands make every attempt to frighten them awa
 y. When the pair proves to be not scary enough\, they call upon rogue polt
 ergeist Beetlejuice (Keaton)\, whose frenetic energy and desire to scare t
 ake a darker turn. Burton’s wildly creative eighties comedy features one h
 ilarious\, inventive scene after another and some terrific stop-motion spe
