DESCRIPTION:\n	Queens Drive-In\, on the grounds of the New York Hall of Sci
ence in Flushing Meadows Corona Park\, is located at 47-01 111th Street\,
Corona\, New York 11368 \n\n\n\n	With an introduction by Joshua White (fou
nder of the Joshua Light Show) \n	\n \n\n\n Light Show \n\n	Dirs. Elsa
 Garmire\, Ivan Dryer\, Thomas Wilfred\, Joshua White. US\, 1930–2015\, 30
mins. This rare showcase of films connects to the origins of the popular l
aser light show Laserium\, the longest running theatrical attraction in Lo
s Angeles. The program will feature the original\, proof-of-concept video
Laserimage (1972)\, created by physicist Elsa Garmire and filmmaker Ivan D
ryer to convince the Griffith Observatory and Planetarium to open their do
ors to musicians and laserists\; Joshua White’s Joshua Light Show\, which
used techniques like colored oil and water dye to accompany live music–mos
t infamously at the Fillmore East in the late 60s\; and work by Danish lig
ht art pioneer Thomas Wilfred that inspired these filmmakers\, captured be
autifully on screen by AJ Epstein. \n\n\n	\n	\n Koyaanisqatsi \n \n Dir
 . Godfrey Reggio. US\, 1982\, 86 mins.&nbsp\;Koyaanisqatsi is a ravishing
visual symphony that explores the reaches of modern decay. Unprecedented i
n its style and approach at the time of its release in 1982\, director God
frey Reggio’s kaleidoscopic synthesis of images is just as remarkable near
 ly 40 years later. Commercialization\, pollution\, congestion\, and demoli
tion echo throughout an array of incredible scenes far too numerous and nu
anced to list\, set to an original score by Philip Glass\, without a singl
 e word of dialogue or narration. \n	\n	\n \n Tickets: $45 per car (up t
