DESCRIPTION:\n	The Cube&nbsp\; \n	\n	Dir. Jim Henson. 1969\, 53 mins. \n\n
\n	Program total running time: 85 mins. \n\n\n	The ongoing Jim Henson’s Wo
rld screening series returns with a special screening of some of the most
seldom-seen treasures in Henson’s body of work. \n\n\n	Written by Jim Hens
on and Jerry Juhl and originally presented on NBC’s series Experiment in T
elevision\, The Cube is the story of a man (Richard Schaal) who finds hims
elf trapped in a white paneled void while various characters (including a
monk played by puppeteer Jerry Nelson) come and go without offering much h
elp in his plight. The critically acclaimed (and somewhat puzzling) existe
ntial story was one of Henson’s rare non-puppet projects and an unusual pr
ogram to find on network television. A year earlier\, Experiment in Televi
sion also presented Henson’s nonfiction collage Youth ’68. \n\n\n	In addit
ion to The Cube\, we will present a selection of Henson’s short films and
commercials\, recently scanned in high definition from prints and negative
s in The Jim Henson Company Media Archives. \n\nNote: The August 21 screen
ing will be introduced by Jim Henson Legacy President Craig Shemin and The
Jim Henson Company Archives Director Karen Falk\, who will discuss some o
f the documents pertaining to The Cube that were recently added to The Jim
  Henson Exhibition on the Museum’s second floor. \n\n	\n	\n \n\n\n	Ticke
 ts: $15 / $11 seniors &amp\; students / $9 youth (ages 3–17) / Free MoMI m
embers. Order online.&nbsp\;After your purchase\, an electronic ticket wil
l be sent via email. All seating is general admission. Please review safet
 y protocols before your visit. \n	\n
