Accessibility
The Museum is committed to making its facility accessible to all visitors.
All of our workshops and school programs are adaptable for visitors with special needs. If visiting with a school group, please specify student needs when scheduling your trip so we can best prepare for your visit.
Wheelchairs
The Museum is fully accessible by wheelchair. A wheelchair is available to borrow free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not accepted. ID must be left with Visitor Services staff.
Sound Amplification Systems
Portable assistive listening devices (ALD) for the Bartos Screening Room are available free-of-charge at the admissions desk in the Museum lobby. The Museum offers FM and infrared receivers with headsets or neck loops. Please inquire at the desk about the ALD that best suits your needs.
Service Animals
Guide dogs and animals for assisted therapy are welcome at the Museum.
First Aid
Visitor Services and Security staff are available to assist with first aid.
Access Mornings @ MoMI
Join us the first Saturday of each month (October–June) for exclusive Museum access for families on the autism spectrum. This early access hour, before the Museum is open to the general public, will allow visitors of all ages to explore the exhibitions and participate in art making projects, facilitated by Museum educators. A different theme will be offered each month. Light breakfast refreshments will be served. Reservations required. For more information and upcoming themes click here.
Sensory Friendly Screenings (First Saturday of the month at 11:00 a.m.)
On the first Saturday of the month, as part of the ongoing Family Matinees series, the Museum offers Sensory Friendly Screenings for those who may find the full darkness and volume of traditional screenings overwhelming. Theater lights will be dimmed, but not completely turned off, and the sound for the screening will be set at a lower volume.
